Day 1 : Hanoi arrival

You are warmly welcome at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi by our tour guide & driver. You then move downtown to do the hotel check-in; You are free at leisure for the first amazing experience in Hanoi - the city for peace. You stay overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2 : Hanoi City tour (B)

After breakfast, you meet your guide at your hotel and depart on tour to visit Hanoi with the following highlights: the Temple of Literature - Vietnam's first university; Visit the serene Museum of Ethnology where you observe Vietnam's diverse culture through the Museum's unique presentation of artifacts and dress used in daily life. (Museum of Ethnology is closed on Mondays).

You also come to visit the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple before driving back to central Hanoi for a walking tour through the Old Quarter to enjoy the bustling local life. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It's a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you.

Day 3 : Hanoi - Halong bay – the World heritage (B/L/D)

After breakfast at the hotel, you are departing for one of the most magnificent scenic destinations in the world, Halong Bay. Halong Bay covers 577 square miles filled with more than 3,000 limestone "peaks" or karsts that jut from the deep blue water as far as the eye can see;

Upon arrival, you are going to get on a Junk cruising around Ha Long Bay with a delicious local seafood lunch, passing Dog island, Incense Urn island, Ga Choi island, Finger island, Hoa Cuong Island and Surprise Cave and enjoy short swimming at Titov beach (if weather is nice enough).

You have a nice dinner on board and enjoy the night fishing. You have a memorable overnight stay on board.

Day 4 : Halong – Hanoi – Siem Reap (B/L)

In the morning, you cruise to Bai Tu long Bay, Fire island, Bo Nau Island, fishing village. You have lunch on boat and arrive at Ha long wharf at about 12.00 at noon.

You come back to Hanoi by car and go to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap. On arrival in Siem Reap, you are welcome by tour guide and transfer to check in hotel. You stay overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5 : Siem Reap -The Small Circuit & Angkor Thom (B)

Initially you will explore the Small Circuit. This tour includes the huge pyramid of Takeo, and the jungle-clad Ta Prohm, made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster 'Tomb Raider'.

You then move on to explore the impressive Royal City of Angkor Thom, where you will find the Bayon, a temple famed for its many gigantic carved faces smiling beguilingly down at you. You will also visit other important sites in this immense walled city, including the pyramid of Baphuon, Phimeanakas, and the royal viewing stands known as the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

In the afternoon, it is time to further discover the magnificent Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious building. If you have the time your guide will take you to an excellent spot for watching a mesmerizing Angkor Wat sunset.

You stay overnight in Siem Reap at your selected hotel.

Banteay Srei Temple, Angkor

Day 6 : Banteay Srei & the Grand Circuit (B)

This morning you are heading 30km north to visit the captivating and beautiful temple of Banteay Srei or 'Fortress of the Women'. The journey allows you to experience the beautiful Cambodian countryside as you pass through small typical villages, on-route you will visit Banteay Samre. Banteay Samre is an elaborately decorated temple, embellished with floral motifs and scenes from the Ramayana, all carved from pink sandstone. It is said the carvings must have been done by women as the detail is too fine for the hands of a man.

In the afternoon, you continue your Angkor encounter with a visit to the spectacular temples of the Grand Circuit, beginning with Preah Khan or 'Sacred Sword', one of the largest temples at Angkor. You continue to Neak Pean surrounded by fountains and ponds. Next is Ta Som and its famous strangler fig tree. Finally, you arrive at Pre Rup, a pleasant spot to experience another Angkor sunset if you wish.

You get back your hotel and stay overnight.

Day 7 : Angkor Wat, Floating Villages & Local Crafts (B)

You have a nice chance to see the moment of sunrise at Angkor Wat rising behind Angkor Wat's five carved towers.

After breakfast, it is time to further discover the magnificent Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious building.

After lunch, you take a short 15km drive to Phnom Krom - the large hill that looms closer, and enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Tonle Sap lake, the largest lake in South East Asia. You will see the traditional floating village of Chong Kneas and witness the residents going about their daily life - it is quite a sight seeing a whole bamboo village complete with homes, gas stations, schools, hair dressers, and even karaoke bars floating on a lake.

On the way back to Siem Reap you will call in at Artisans d'Angkor, an interesting boutique workshop where you can observe young Cambodians learning traditional Khmer handicraft techniques, such as stone & wood carving, and lacquering & gilding - a great opportunity for last minute quality souvenirs.
